Another Challenge!

Well I’m appearing to be on a slight roll here.  It’s funny when you make time for you, the things that you can get done!  Gloria is challenging us each month, and October was a Fall Theme.  So I got to go outside of my “box” and I liked it.  I hope you do too.

JM’s October Crop Challenge #3

It’s been a good day so far, and I’m off and onto my 3 layout so far!  Olivia had such a blast at Ava’s birthday party.  They had these bouncy castles and slides and mazes, and Olivia was in all her glory!  Her laugh is infectious and her smile lights up even the darkest of days. 

A Two Page Layout!!!

I have been doing single page layouts for a quite some time with the odd two pager thrown in there.  Well Lisa over at the CSSC board that I’m on, gave us this fantastic challenge!  And you guessed it, it’s a TWO PAGER!!!  I loved the challenge of this one, and absolutely LOVED how it turned out.  How can you not love scrapping your family?  They are my favourite thing to scrap, so I think it turned out smashingly!

I can’t believe it but I’ve actually done another page!  This was Alex at winter camp in the spring of 2011.  This was at the Scout Swing, to the point that we couldn’t get the kids off of it!

Sea lion’d with a Kiss

Rob and I went away for a weekend together back in May 2011, and had a blast!  We went and watched the Sea lion show and afterwards got our picture taken with one of them.  Here is our photo with them.  She was such a sweetie and I could feel her whiskers on my head.  Rob wanted to turn and kiss me on the other side but was scared that the Sea lion would have reacted.

A Sad Day

I chat with numerous ladies on a board that we all share a similar interest.  Scrapbooking.  Erin was the sunshine that brightened up any day.  She always had a nice thing to say, no matter what was going on in her life. Erin, sadly had a battle with cancer, and cancer won today.  It was an extremely sad day to hear that Heaven got a new angel today.  And that is truly what Erin was…. an angel.  She was a young mother of a beautiful little boy, Luke.  Her husband Jared, is now to raise this precious little boy on his own. 

Erin and I always talked about meeting for coffee, and taking our kids to The Fun Factory for a play date.  Sadly, we won’t ever be able to do that.  My heart is so heavy knowing that such an amazing person has left this earth too early.  She has left footprints on my heart.

A friend of mine lost her dad a year ago today. We had always talked about participating in a run/walk for cancer awareness.  After the loss of such a dear person has made me want to do this even more.  This is something that I’m going to season myself to do, and the next big race/fundraiser, I will be there.  We, as a society, need to do whatever we can to find an end to this horrific disease.  We need to find a cure, there is just no getting around it.

Thank you Erin for your kind words, and support through the crap that had gone in my life.  Even with everything that was going on with her, that she was always concerned for others, and put them before her own problems.

Rest in peace dear friend, we will meet in Heaven and have that cup of coffee, and have our children play together.

Another Challenge

On one of the boards that I’m on, we have LOAD challenges.  LOAD stands for Lay Out A Day.  So I had the “groove” tonight, and I’ve done 3 pages tonight!  This is for LOAD # 4.  It’s nice to have a little bit of time and motivation to get some pages done.

Buggie Boots

Brooke has the CUTEST rubber boots that I have ever seen.  These were a must have picture.  They were the topic of many a conversations.  She loved her boots and had to make sure that she knew where they were at all times.  Thanks for sharing your buggie boots with me Brooke!

We Will Always Be Together

At Easter this year, Olivia and Brooke were constantly “fighting” for Auntie Rhonda’s attention.  There is only a few months between Brooke and Olivia, so it was great to see how the 3 year old mind works.  They played so well together, even when jealousy reared it’s ugly head sometimes!  LOL

I’m starting to figure out the whole embossing concept, and the 3 swirls that are on the pictures I embossed and I think that they turned out really well.

Camping June 2011

We bought a "new to us" tent trailer, and this past weekend, took it on it's maiden voyage with us!  It POURED on Friday when we got there, and Rob and I were completely soaked to the bone trying to get it set up in the rain.  Here's a few of my favourite pictures from this weekend!  More happy camping to come!

Saturday Croppin’

A couple of weekends ago, I went to an all day crop with some great ladies.  I only got 3 pages done, but at least I got something done!  I wasn’t feeling well in the afternoon, so I ended up going home early, but here are the pages that I got done.  I have one more page that was almost done, but all it needs is a few more embellishments and a title.  I will post that one soon!

Our Little Rock Star

Alex loves playing Rock Band.  And the kid can ROCK!!!!  He is really good on the drums, and well I have no rhythm so he beats me hands down!  He had such a blast playing with Connor at Auntie Rhonda’s & Uncle Cory’s place at Christmas. 

Creative Scrappers – Sketch # 157

Well it’s been awhile since I actually did a sketch from the lovely ladies over at Creative Scrappers!  So tossing this one into the ring today.  This was a great moment, as Alex was learning from Grandma Val on how to play Chess.  He later went on to play Grandpa Desmond, and well got his butt kicked, but had a blast learning LOL

This was Christmas 2011, out at Grandma Sandi and Grandpa Desmond’s farm.  The whole family was there and it was a great day for all!

My Favourite Girls

I had so much fun taking these girls pictures!  I was so glad that these cousins got to play together.  They don’t get to see each other very often, but when they do, it’s like no time has passed at all!

Love…. nothing else can compare

This little girl has been in my life for just over 2 years now…. I always thought that the first little girl that would bust into my heart would be my own… but Olivia has done that first.  I couldn’t imagine my life without her in it.  She has such an amazing personality, and a smile that goes on for miles.  Her laugh can make the worse day, better.  She told Rob today, “Daddy, if I were a Daddy, I would marry Tiffany!”  How can you not smile when you hear that.  So here’s the an amazing little girl, that I’m so proud to call my daughter.  Love you Monkey Girl!

A Bunch of Monkeys!

These 3 girls just had such a blast together!  This was our return to Auntie Myra’s house, and they were just as excited to come back as they were to go to the park!  I love just watching them grow together and bond like cousins should!

Cousins!

Here is Olivia, Sadie and Brooke all together in Lloydminster for Easter weekend, April 23, 2011.  They had so much fun at the park!  It was such nice weather, so what a better way to spend the day than at the park?

Friendship

Alex had a dear friend Christopher from his Cubs pack.  They were in the same pack last year, and this year they both had to change.  Alex was SO excited to see that Christopher was joining him here at Montgomery so that they could hang out again.  This is Alex’s 3rd year in Cubs, and Christopher’s 2nd year in Cubs.  Alex is going to do one more year, so he can move on with Christopher to Scouts in the year after.  They are both such awesome kids, it was so easy to create a page about their friendship.  It has been an honour and a pleasure to be one of their leaders this year.

Another Layout!

Well apparently I’m on some kind of a roll!  Here is the next one that I have done today!  I hope that I can get back on the board that I’m on to finish some crop challenges.  The hosting site decided that this was a good time to be doing maintenance! 

Gettin’ back at it!

Well I’m taking some time to myself, and getting back at my scrapbooking that I haven’t touched in months!  Here is my first page that I did today, it’s from our all sections fall camp that we had on the Thanksgiving weekend in 2010.  The kids learned how to do archery with Akela, and had a blast!

Finally an Update!!!

Well as we all know that life gets in the way sometimes.  I went to a crop back in January, and am NOW just finding the time to put up the pages that I did.  I honestly haven’t touched my scrapbooking stuff since then.  I finally just got it sort of cleaned up around my scrapbooking area, and hoping to get some done this weekend.

Valentine's Week

Well I have completely slacked off on the whole blogging world!  LOL

Well this is the lead up to Valentine's Day, so have you decided on what you and your significant other is going to be doing?  DF and I have no plans, as we have kids that day... maybe something later on in the week.  I'm gone out of town the following weekend.. so who knows!

Let's see if I can get some scrapbooking done here in the next few days.  I have some pictures that I need to post from the crop that I went to in the middle of January.  I believe that I got 7 or 8 pages done that day!  I was extremely proud of myself!

Well the Christmas Holiday season was crazy busy for us, so there wasn’t a lot of time for scrapping.  But I did manage to get one LO done!  I have a few friends that have been trying to get a lot more done, and a lot more “ME” time.  So, that’s what I’m trying to do too!  As per usual, better late than never… but here is my LO to this great sketch!
